Best Gables Memory
My best memories of Gables include Jimmy’s Hurricane, football games,
enthusiastic cheerleaders and traveling with the tennis team.
I also remember a most embarrassing incident involving Neal
Knight and a Scarlet Letter book report Neal wrotefor me in exchange for staying
to play one more round of cards at his house.
Special Events In My Life
I attended the University of Georgia and the University of Miami. I worked
as a ticket agent for Delta Airlines for 34 1⁄2 years before retiring.
I worked in downtown Miami and Miami Beach for over 10 years. I was transferred
to Augusta, Georgia; Houston, Texas; San Francisco and then back to Houston
where I retired and now live. I was diagnosed at age 35 with Spinal Muscular
Atrophy and have been wheelchair bound for the last 10 years. I gave up tennis
for duplicate bridge playing. As of Jan. 2007 I am very close to receiving
the title of Silver Life Master in bridge and am a certified ACBL Bridge Teacher.
You can find me on BBO (Bridge Base Online) as TXBB.
