Best Gables Memory
Growing up in the Gables with my twin sister and baby sister was a great time
and we had a great life. Grade school at Gables Elementary, Junior High at
Ponce and then on to Cavaliers on our famous Bird Road and LeJeune Road Corner.
The good times a Venetian Roller Rick, movies at the Miracle Theater, riding
the bus downtown to the Olympia (now Guzman Center) and shopping and lunching
in Burdines, Oops, don’t forget Kress’s
At our Alma Mater we wore those crazy bloomer gym suits, a far cry from today,
GAA and band, my sister and I played the flute and wielded badminton rackets
in an NFL type sport, we thought! Ha Ha….
What I’m doing now
I’ve had a career at Dade County School Board for twenty-nine years
and one more to go; ready for retirement.
Special Events in my life
My husband, Terry, graduated from Miami Jackson in ’58, my children
are daughter Marannette, her husband, David, granddaughters Courtney and Brittany,
my son Dale, his wife Kelly, grandchildren Nicole and Nick, daughter Lannette
and grandson Zachary, daughter Dawn, her husband Ron, and grandchildren Joe,
Ashley and Elizabeth
