Special Events in my life
University of Miami, Pepperdine University – BA Communications. Worked
as a Training Manager for Hughes Aircraft Company for 25 years. Met my husband
there and eventually got married. Adopted out daughter at birth in December
1986 and was a “Gymnastics Mom” for about 9 years (at a high level)
until injuries forced her to retire from the sport. Can you imagine –
retiring when you’re 15! Now I’m a “Water Polo Mom”
and a “Swim Mom”.
Besides being a Mom my hobbies and interests include writing an adult novel,
putting together a family cookbook, learning more and more about the computer,
“Bunka” embroidery (its Japanese embroidery), exercising and researching
recipes.
On my younger days I went to work at a hotel resort in Puerto Rico and was
asked to be in the Miss Puerto Rico contest where I name in 2nd (the winner
was 5’-7” – I’m a measly 5’5”). Had my
own radio show there and made many radio and TV commercials.
About 2 years ago my husband entered me in the “Calling All Cooks”
program on the Food TV Network and they came to out house and did a segment.
It was, as they say, my 15 minutes of fame. Whenever they re-run it people
around here will get that “I know you” look in their eyes –
and some of them finally ask. I have to tell you it was a lot of fun and very
informative.
